Installation Instructions - NL21LBDRL

Thank you again for your purchase of the 21 inch light bar by Nord Lights

Installation time 2-3 hours

Installation difficulty : Medium

Installation Instructions for under front bumper mount :
Plug & Play for 2024 + Tacoma / 2025 + 4Runner

IF your vehicle comes with AUX power options , use the supplied extra connectors instead.

1. Take out the light bar and place it face down on a soft surface.

2. Take out the hardware package and take out two long bolts out, bolt head goes into the slotted rail at the back of the light bar. Do not worry about placement at this point. Put two bolts into the rail

3. On both bolts place the black bracket then rectangular spacer onto the bolt ( orientation shown in picture below )  , then place a lock washer and nut.

Do not tighten fully at this point. Make sure the mounting brackets are shown as above on the left and right of the sliding rail.

Moving to the vehicle side:

*At this point if you have an OEM Front Chin Spoiler / air dam , please remove it. Reinstallation via trimming this part is possible.

OEM mounting points are under the front bumper at the crash bar mounts. (see above )

From below you see them right in front of the skid plate / guard.
4. Remove the bolts holding the crash bar support and slide the far end of the light bar bracket into the same mounting points. OEM bolt can be used here or our supplied bolts, your choice. Place a washer and install a nut on the top side.

5. Tighten the bolt on the light bar side once both sides are fully mounted , before fully tightening adjust the angle of the light bar to your preference, we can always go back and loosen the bolt to adjust again.

6. Wiring harness is fed on the left side ( driver side ) of vehicle through the opening shown below :

STOP HERE if you are not confident with wiring and take it to a professional for installation.

7. Connect the DT plug to the rest of wiring harness then feed it to the battery

8. Remove battery connections and feed the (red) positive connector and (black) negative under the bolt on either side. the Positive side is hidden under the red cover. Tighten both end once completed.

9. We then feed the wiring across the rear of the engine bay to the firewall entrance at the driver side ( picture shown below)

10. Remove the connector at the end of the wiring detaching the OEM switch.

11. OEM switch will be installed inside the vehicle. Under the Light switch panel. Carefully remove the panel by detaching the tabs using a trim remover tool or lightly tug on the panel.

12. Push out an empty unused blank switch and push our supplied OEM switch into the empty slot.

13. Now we need to connect the wiring harness from the engine bay to inside the vehicle via the firewall.

14. Remove the boot and place the last piece of the wiring with the light bar on off switch through this opening. ( this may be the hardest part of the install as clearance is tight ). We recommend using a screwdriver to ply open a large enough opening to push through the wiring connector

15. Connect the connector to OEM light switch then reinstall the light panel from inside the vehicle.

16. Fix wiring harness inside engine bay , zip tie (not provided) the harness to run away from hot surfaces.

Your light bar is ready to go, test light bar angle and retighten all bolts at the light bar mounting points. The light bar will only turn on if the OEM button is engaged inside the cabin. DO NOT FORGET to turn the light bar off when exiting the vehicle as it may drain the battery.

17. If DRL function is not used, please zip tie away the yellow and white wire and tape over the wires with electrical tape.

DRL Function ( Amber / White )

Recommended to be installed by a professional as this may require splicing into OEM connections.

  1. Select a Color to connect ( White = White / Yellow = Amber )
  2. Cover the unused wire with electrical tape.
  3. Splice into the parking light wire ( Black with Yellow tracer ) on the driver side headlight / parking light assembly , electrical butt connectors are recommended here
  4. Alternatively use a "add a fuse option " to the INJ fuse for the selected color
