Adjustment Style

External Adjustment

KONI developed and manufactured the first adjustable telescopic shock absorbers and continue to innovate adjustment technology in each product.

KONI External Adjustment is used on Twin-tube design shock absorbers.

This type of adjustment can be made with the shock on the vehicle and in any height of motion.

How to use the external adjustment?

Almost all KONI externally adjustable dampers are quickly and easily adjusted by placing the KONI adjuster knob on the adjuster tab that sticks out of the top mounting threading.

Which direction do I turn the knob?

With a free turning adjustment process there is more flexibility in finding your perfect setting and fine tuning the capabilities of your shock absorber.

Rebound Adjustment Direction:
Clockwise: Softer
Counter Clockwise: Firmer
Design Construction

Twin-tube Design

KONI shock absorbers come in two different constructions:

  • Monotube design or
  • Twin-tube design.

Our engineers tailor shock absorbers for each application choosing the best design construction to suit your vehicle.

No matter which type of shock absorber application your vehicle uses, the general principle of each is to convert kinetic energy (movement) into thermic energy (heat).
