The line of bypass valves from GrimmSpeed is a highly sought-after product, but due to the complicated assembly process, it has been challenging to keep them in stock. As a result, our customers are experiencing frustration. To solve this problem, our team has worked hard to redesign the BPV, making the assembly process more efficient while also improving its performance, reliability and manufacturability. During the testing of the stock bypass valves, we discovered internal leakage at low boost levels. To address this, we have created a more robust valve that can withstand double the stock pressure while still complementing other GrimmSpeed parts.

MATERIAL & DESIGN:
Grimmspeed utilized billet 6061 aluminum alloy to create a valve body and base for each fitment. To match with there existing product offerings, they're anodized in either black or red. This process offered not only a gorgeous appearance but also protection against corrosion. In this new version, they integrated a 38mm diameter aluminum piston to promptly release pressure for seamless forced-induction platform operation. The valves employ buna-n o-rings which resist abrasion and protect the intake system from any fluids that may find their way in. Additionally, the swivel fitting allows for convenient installation and customization.

FIT & PERFORMANCE:
The bypass valves are incredibly easy to use and do not require any tuning. Upon installation of the Grimmspeed bypass valve, you will notice a significant improvement in the sound quality and intake sharpness. Additionally, the car will achieve boost much faster than with the leak-prone OEM version. The STI unit utilizes the recirculating elbow from the factory BPV, guaranteeing exact alignment and a perfect fit. This creates a completely plug-and-play unit.

CHANGES MADE IN THE V2 BPV:
The new design does not require the inspection port which was primarily used for quality control. To eliminate potential failure points seen in our v1 design, we redesigned the internal piston. After further testing and development, we adjusted the tension of the internal spring to better suit the operating environments. The design of the main body has been updated resulting in a better CNC milling finish. In order to improve valve response, we replaced the internal brass piston from v1 with a lighter weight hard aluminum piston.
