These manifolds are a significant upgrade over stock due to thicker castings, improved exhaust flow, and more durable materials. They are engineered to eliminate the common failure points of the original 7.3L Power Stroke manifolds, such as cracking and leaking. — BD's manifolds feature cast iron walls that are 0.275 inches thick, a 37.5% increase over the factory design, which makes them highly resistant to warping and cracking from heat cycles. They also improve performance by increasing exhaust flow by 14% over stock, helping the turbo spool faster. Unlike the factory design, BD re-engineered the mounting lugs to be solid, extending all the way to the cylinder head to prevent stress fractures.
