The mountune uprated air recirculation valve is a direct replacement for the OE component. Machined from solid aluminum with an improved piston type design compared to the OE diaphragm, the more robust design and material are suitable for vehicles in advanced state of tune. The original valve features a rubber diaphragm that does not function effectively when the pressure differential across the turbocharger compressor housing is increased above the original operating conditions. This can cause the valve to open prematurely leading to possible turbocharger damage due to increased turbo shaft speed.

The engineers at mountune designed a new, more robust valve that features a metal piston and rubber sealing system. The new design also features an uprated spring that improves sealing pressure. This allows the valve to remain closed under high pressure conditions. The mountune valve is also serviceable if needed.
